Grana Padano is one of the most popular cheeses of Italy. A hard, semi-fat cheese that matures slowly. It is produced all year round from cow's milk, and aged for a minimum of 10 months.
This product has medieval origins. The Cistercian monks first discovered it as a method of preserving milk that could not be consumed the same day is was collected. The cheese immediately became highly valued and very popular.
Today, just as a thousand years ago, Grana Padano is produced and grated in 32 provinces of Piemonte, Lombardia, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, with milk coming from the fertile valley from which it takes its name.
Since it is a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) product, the entire Grana Padano production chain must take place in the area of origin. For this reason, starting from the raw materials, we develop strict quality controls in order to ensure that every phase of the production and ageing is legitimate. This process leads to high quality products.
The transformation of milk into Grana Padano, the heart of our production, enables us to daily use our dairy experience. Our Grana Padano is easily recognizable from BS628 code, the serial number that identifies our factory.
